The team that ran Subaru's works rally programme rebuilds its own legend: the Impreza 22B reborn as a 400hp carbon-bodied P25.
Prodrive ran Subaru's World Rally Championship team from 1990 to 2008, and the P25 is its own homage to the car that programme produced: the 1998 Impreza 22B STi, of which only 424 were built. Each of the 25 P25s starts from an original two-door Mk1 Impreza WRX, rebuilt with a bespoke carbon-fibre body, a substantially uprated 2.5-litre flat-four making around 400hp, and a chassis drawing on decades of competition car know-how. The dashboard swaps for a full-width digital display with data logging, and the rear seats can give way to a partial roll cage for buyers who want it. All 25 sold out quickly. Few restomodders can claim to be recreating their own motorsport history rather than someone else's.
