About Maison Restomod

A restomod is a classic car rebuilt to be driven: original soul, modern engineering. The movement has produced some of the most extraordinary machines of our time, but the builders behind them are scattered across hundreds of small workshops on four continents, with little visibility beyond word of mouth.

Maison Restomod is a curated directory of those houses. We map who builds what, where they are, and what philosophy they follow, from concours-grade restorers to carbon-bodied reinvention, so that enthusiasts and prospective commissioners can survey the whole landscape in one place.

Inclusion is editorial and free: no builder pays to be listed. We look for companies whose core work is the restoration, re-engineering or reimagination of classic vehicles. Parts suppliers, dealers and tuners of modern cars are outside the scope. Every builder in the directory carries a full profile we have researched and written ourselves, with a handful of featured houses highlighted for their standing in the scene.

We write every word ourselves and never copy text from builder websites. Videos are embedded directly from YouTube with credit to their creators. Photography appears only once we have the right to publish it: the builder has granted permission or supplied press material, a photographer has licensed the picture to us, or it carries a Creative Commons licence, in which case the photographer and the licence are named beneath the image. Until then, a profile leads with the builder's models rather than an image we may not use. Maison Restomod is independent. All manufacturer and builder names and marques are trademarks of their respective owners and are used solely to identify the companies and vehicles concerned. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any listed company, and a listing is not a recommendation: always conduct your own due diligence before commissioning a build.
