JAS Motorsport

🇮🇹 Milan · Italy

Based in Arluno near Milan, JAS Motorsport has been Honda’s official racing partner since 1998. This motorsport background is what lies behind the Tensei, a Acura/Honda NSX based restomod.

The JAS Tensei is a modern rebirth of the 1990s Acura/Honda NSX, created by Italian motorsport specialist JAS Motorsport, which has over thirty years of racing experience, and limited to just 35 cars. Its name means “rebirth” in Japanese, and the aim is to keep the original’s purity, balance and driver connection while updating it with Italian styling and modern engineering. Pininfarina has reworked the NSX’s proportions with cleaner surfaces, a lower ride height and a full carbon fibre body, including a flat floor, splitter and diffuser, with the option of exposed carbon or body-colour carbon-look paint. Judd Power, the motorsport engine builder with Formula One and Le Mans heritage, has stripped and rebuilt the naturally aspirated V6 as a 3.5 litre unit with billet crankshaft, forged pistons and rods, individual throttle bodies and a titanium-tipped exhaust. Each engine is bench-tested before delivery and produces 420 bhp and 350 Nm, with an 8,500 rpm limit. Power goes through a manual gearbox with a twin-plate clutch and limited-slip differential. The chassis uses KW coilovers with Dynamic Damping Control adjustable via the head-up display, a hydraulic front lift, bespoke control arms and an electro-hydraulic steering rack. Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes sit behind forged 19 and 20 inch wheels, with carbon-ceramic brakes optional. The interior is hand-finished in Italy with materials chosen for feel and function rather than excess, and the car is sold through JAS directly in Europe and through dealers in Hong Kong, the USA and Canada.
