The EVO37: Lancia's Group B legend reborn in Piedmont and as EVO38 and K39 pushed to extremes by former rally engineers. Italian restomod royalty.
Kimera Automobili's EVO37 is the restomod as love letter: a modern recreation of the Lancia 037, the last rear-wheel-drive car to win the World Rally Championship, built in Piedmont with involvement from original Abarth-era engineers. A mid-mounted supercharged-and-turbocharged four-cylinder, carbon bodywork over a modernised chassis, and obsessive period-correct details made it an instant icon at Goodwood. Founder Luca Betti, a former rally driver, followed it with the EVO38 and K39 (in collaboration with Koenigsegg). For Italian car romantics, this is the pinnacle.

EVO37
Sold out (37)The Kimera EVO37 is the Turin marque's tribute to the Lancia 037, the last rear-wheel-drive car to win the World Rally Championship before all-wheel drive took over the sport, celebrating the seven WRC titles won by the Martini Racing team with a limited Martini 7 edition dedicated to the rallies in which the original 037 stood on the podium. Power comes from a 2.15-liter inline four-cylinder engine mounted amidships and mated to a combination centrifugal turbocharger and Roots-type supercharger with an electronically managed electro-clutch, producing 505hp at 7,000-7,500rpm and 550 Nm of torque (400 Nm from just 2,000rpm), sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox with a self-locking differential integrated into the transmission. The car rides on a 2,520mm wheelbase with 365x29mm self-ventilated brake discs and four-piston calipers front and rear, a 0.50 drag coefficient, and 245/35 R18 front and 295/30 R19 rear tires, built with deep involvement from engineers and craftspeople who worked on the original 1980s cars.

EVO38
Sold out (38)The Kimera EVO38 positions itself as the "definitive descendant" of Turin's great lineage of homologation specials built between 1978 and 1992, imagining the evolution that lineage might have taken had it continued, and produced as a strictly limited run of just 38 units. It shares the EVO37's 2.15-liter turbocharged and supercharged inline-four architecture, dry sump lubrication and middle-rear longitudinal mounting, but steps up output to 600hp at 7,000-7,500rpm and 580 Nm of torque, while switching to a genuine four-wheel-drive Integrale layout with a 6-speed-plus-reverse manual gearbox, limited-slip differentials front and rear (with an optional Torsen front unit) and active electronic locking force distribution. Dimensions and braking hardware carry over closely from the EVO37, with the same 2,520mm wheelbase, 365x29mm four-piston brakes and 0.50 drag coefficient, though Kimera describes the EVO38 less as a restomod and more as a "few-off," built in the image of its motorsport ancestors both stylistically and technically.

K39
Limited series (39)The Kimera K-39 marks a shift in direction for the marque, reimagining the Group C "Silhouette" prototypes fielded by the Martini Racing team that dominated the World Sportscar Championship in the late 1970s and early 1980s. At its heart sits a bespoke twin-turbo V8 developed specifically for Kimera by Koenigsegg, producing 1,000hp and 1,200 Nm of torque, with design and aerodynamics conceived together from the outset so that the front-end intakes, sculpted rear volumes and dramatic wing all serve a functional role alongside their sports-prototype styling. Beyond its road-legal identity, the K-39 has also been engineered for extreme motorsport use, including a dedicated Pikes Peak Hill Climb configuration, positioning it as much a competition machine as a collector's road car.
