The gold standard for the Jaguar E-Type. The Speedster, Low Drag GT and Lightweight GT are among the most beautiful restomods ever built.

Eagle has been perfecting the Jaguar E-Type in East Sussex since 1984, long before 'restomod' was a word. Its Speedsters and Low Drag GTs, hand-formed aluminium bodies over comprehensively re-engineered E-Type underpinnings, are routinely described as among the most beautiful cars in the world, and each build consumes thousands of hours. Eagle is the proof that the restomod idea predates the Porsche boom, and for Jaguar it remains without serious rival. Waiting lists are long; the results are heirlooms.

Eagle E-Type

Available to commission

The Eagle E-Type is the foundation of the range, a "zero mile" restoration of an original Jaguar E-Type carried out entirely in-house at Eagle's Sussex workshop over roughly 4,000 hours per car. Every element, from the selection of the donor E-Type through engineering, construction and testing, is handled by Eagle's own craftsmen and engineers, with a fully bespoke specification process that lets clients tailor the car to their own driving style. It keeps the original character and proportions of the E-Type intact while quietly improving reliability, safety and performance underneath, and it forms the baseline from which all of Eagle's other special editions have evolved.

Eagle Speedster

Available to commission

The Eagle Speedster is the model that put Eagle on the global map, a lightweight reinterpretation of the E-Type built from a period original and famously described by Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear as "the most beautiful thing I have ever seen." It's built around a 4.7-liter all-aluminum XK straight-six engine and offered in various states of tune, including an extra-light version that weighs just 985kg, with every detail reworked to sharpen the E-Type's original lines rather than dilute them. Like the rest of the range, each Speedster is a fully bespoke commission built from an original sixties or early-seventies Jaguar E-Type.

Eagle Low Drag GT

Available to commission

The Eagle Low Drag GT takes its inspiration from the ultra-rare Jaguar E-Type Low Drag Coupe and turns that shape into a genuine grand tourer, combining the technical and aesthetic improvements of the Speedster with the long-legged comfort needed to cross continents. Practical additions over the Speedster include a more spacious cockpit, recirculating air conditioning and a long-range fuel cell, all built around the same 4.7-liter aluminum XK engine, and finished with Eagle's customary attention to detail throughout the cabin and drivetrain. It was singled out by Chris Evans in the Mail on Sunday as a car that "doesn't so much turn heads as threaten to snap them clean off the necks of their owners."

Eagle Spyder GT

Available to commission

The Eagle Spyder GT is positioned as the fourth evolution of the E-Type, following the Eagle E-Type, Speedster and Low Drag GT, and it combines the poise and long-distance performance of the Low Drag GT with the styling of the Speedster in an open-top format. A raked windscreen and folding roof let it work as a genuine roadster rather than a fair-weather car, and as with its siblings, it's built from an original sixties E-Type with extensive customer options and the same 4.7-liter engine underpinning the range. Tiff Needell called it one of the most beautiful cars in the world to drive, praising its improved handling over any E-Type that came before it.

Eagle Lightweight GT

Available to commission

The Eagle Lightweight GT goes further back for its inspiration, aiming to recreate the ultra-rare factory Lightweight E-Type racers of 1963, of which only 12 were built, as a fully road-going classic supercar. Eagle strips each donor car down to nothing and rebuilds it using magnesium, Inconel and titanium components to bring the finished weight to just 1,017kg, all while keeping the comfort of a genuine grand tourer rather than a stripped-out track car, complete with bespoke …hlins adjustable dampers, four-piston vented disc brakes and discreetly integrated air conditioning. Jeremy Clarkson said wanting one "keeps me awake at night," and Forbes called it the most beautiful car of 2020.

Eagle Lightweight GTR

Sold out (1)

The Eagle Lightweight GTR is the newest and most extreme car in the lineup, a 1-of-1 commission that pushes the Lightweight GT concept even closer to its racing roots. At just 930kg dry, or 975kg with fluids, it's more than 30% lighter than a standard E-Type Roadster, achieved through extensive use of magnesium, titanium, carbon fiber, Inconel and lithium alongside a bespoke 4.7-liter all-aluminum straight-six with titanium connecting rods and triple Weber carburetors delivering a power-to-weight ratio in excess of 430bhp per ton. Suspension is revised with titanium hubs and adjustable …hlins dampers, braking comes from carbon-ceramic discs with AP Racing calipers, and the stripped-back cabin is trimmed in black Alcantara with lightweight aluminum seats and four-point harnesses. Built entirely to one client's specification, it was named Bespoke Car of the Year at the 2025 International Historic Motoring Awards.
