ECD Automotive Design
Featured houseπΊπΈ Kissimmee, Florida Β· United States
America's largest Defender and Range Rover Classic remanufacturer: LS V8 or Tesla power, built on a production line in Florida.
ECD Automotive Design industrialised the Defender restomod: a 100,000-square-foot Florida facility, a genuine production-line process, and a public listing on NASDAQ. Clients configure Defenders, Range Rover Classics and Jaguar E-Types with everything from GM LS V8s to Tesla electric drivetrains and interiors trimmed to Bentley standards. Purists may prefer smaller ateliers, but for buyers who want American-market support, predictable delivery and near-limitless configurability, ECD is the dominant force in the segment.
Models & builds
ECD Heritage
Available to commissionThe ECD Heritage is the entry point into the range and the most deliberately restrained build ECD offers: a Defender 90 or 110 built to preserve the exact feel of a factory-original truck from a quarter-century ago, right down to keeping the original TD5 diesel engine, R380 five-speed manual gearbox and base-level standard equipment. It's offered as a true base model with black vinyl or Exmoor Urban seating, a vinyl dashboard and steel Wolf wheels, though buyers can still choose any gloss classic Land Rover paint color and add options like a backup camera, remote locking and tire pressure monitoring.

ECD Defenders (90/110/130/Series II2) & Custom RRC
Available to commissionThe ECD Defenders, spanning the D90, D110 and D130 along with the Series IIA and the Custom Range Rover Classic form the core of ECD's Kissimmee, Florida operation, with more than 600 hand-built classics delivered since 2013. Every truck is stripped to the bare chassis and rebuilt around a Chevrolet 6.2L LS3 V8 producing roughly 430hp and a 6-speed automatic as the Custom-trim standard, while the range-topping Signature trim steps up to a 650hp LT4 V8 with a 10-speed automatic, air ride suspension and Alcon brakes. Seating configurations run from 5 to 9 depending on model, roughly 2,200 hours of craftsman labor go into each build, and interiors are finished in hand-stitched leather with a fully modern infotainment suite, all specified through a design process with over 2 million possible configurations.

ECD Electric Range Rover & Defender
Available to commissionThe ECD Electric Range Rover and Electric Defender models replace the classic drivetrain entirely with ECD's own ground-up EV system rather than a retrofit built from salvaged parts. Buyers choose between 42kWh and 84kWh battery packs for up to 200 miles of range, with fast charging to 80% in under an hour, 295hp on tap, and a 0-60mph time of roughly 4.5 to 5.5 seconds depending on configuration, plus the flexibility to select 2WD or 4WD. The result keeps the Defender or Range Rover Classic's iconic silhouette and off-road ability while running whisper-quiet with instant torque and zero tailpipe emissions.

ECD Jaguar E-Type
Available to commissionECD's Jaguar E-Type is built as a one-of-one restoration available in either Coupe or Roadster form, with power from a 450hp LS3 V8 or, for the first time in the lineup, a 450hp all-electric drivetrain. Each car pairs upgraded brakes and suspension with fine-grade Nappa leather, European weave carpet and a choice of classic instruments, and builds typically take 12 to 18 months given the complexity of the eight-stage drivetrain installation process. ECD leans hard into the E-Type's status as one of the most beautiful cars ever made, and one client compared the result favorably to Singer's reputation in the Porsche restomod world.

ECD Porsche 993
Available to commissionECD's Porsche 993, the most expensive model in the lineup, is the newest addition and reimagines the last air-cooled 911 generation as a fully bespoke build rather than a fixed spec. The standard car keeps the Porsche air-cooled M64 engine with a sport exhaust and high-performance brakes, while optional upgrades include a wide-body stance with a bespoke rear wing, 18-inch RS-style wheels, RECARO Cross Sportster CS seats in Hydes Nero leather and a custom wooden shifter. ECD positions it as suited to either a refined grand-touring build or a higher-powered wide-body performance coupe, depending entirely on client direction.

ECD Classic Mustangs
Available to commissionECD's Classic Mustang restores 1965-1970 donor cars into Fastback or Convertible bespoke builds with a Roush 347 SR V8 as the standard engine, upgradeable through the Roush 427, paired with a Bowler 4R70W automatic transmission. Every car is built in-house at ECD's 100,000-square-foot Kissimmee facility with over 2 million possible configurations spanning paint, ECD Hydes leather upholstery, ProCar front seats and a Grant Classic Nostalgia steering wheel, alongside modern coilover suspension and a MagnaFlow exhaust.
from US$280,000
ECD Chevrolet Blazer K5
Available to commissionECD's Chevrolet Blazer K5, the most accessible model in the range, is offered in two distinct trims: the Heritage K5, which keeps a 350 small-block Chevy with EFI, a 4-speed automatic and OEM-style stock axles for a simpler, more original driving character, and the Signature K5, which steps up to a GM LS3 V8 with a 6-speed automatic, disc brakes front and rear, and a choice of leather or premium vinyl seating with a Retrosound infotainment system. Both trims ride on a 2.5-inch lift and can be configured with an open-top Bimini hardtop and a roll cage, keeping the K5's vintage American SUV character while modernizing everything underneath.

ECD Toyota FJ40/60
Available to commissionECD's Toyota FJ40/60, restores either the compact FJ40 or the longer-wheelbase FJ60 around a Chevrolet 6.2L LS3 V8 producing up to 430hp and a 6-speed automatic transmission, backed by a full disc brake conversion and upgraded suspension. Every build gets hand-stitched leather seating, front air conditioning, an ECD premium sound system and a painted dashboard finished in the exterior color, with builds typically taking 12 to 14 months and every truck federalized and road-compliant for U.S. use, backed by a comprehensive warranty on parts and craftsmanship.
