Not a restomod so much as a reinvention: twin founders reimagine the 911 as a carbon-tubbed, sub-1,000kg mid-engine hypercar.
Oilstainlab, founded in Los Angeles in 2018 by twin brothers Nikita and Iliya Bridan, builds cars that quote the Porsche 911 rather than restore one. Its HF-11 borrows the 911's silhouette and adds a Jaguar F-Type-flavoured tail, wrapped around a bespoke carbon-fibre tub built by a Canadian composites specialist and targeting a sub-1,000kg kerb weight. Power comes from a bespoke 4.5-litre flat-six revving to 12,000rpm, developed jointly with an outside engine manufacturer, and buyers can add an 860hp swappable electric motor for a second, silent character. Only 25 are planned, among the most expensive cars in this directory. This is restomod thinking pushed toward something closer to a coachbuilt hypercar.
