Lightspeed Classic
🇩🇪 Taufkirchen · Germany
Munich-area 964 backdates built to be used year-round, with in-house engines from 250 to 340PS and a race shop's approach to weight and stiffness.
Lightspeed Classic works out of Taufkirchen on the southern edge of Munich, where the Autoaktiv Classic team turns 964s into cars that look like early long-hood 911s but drive like something far newer. The house engine menu runs from a rebuilt 3.6 at around 250PS to a 3.8 RSR with 997 GT3 camshafts and individual throttle bodies at roughly 340PS, all breathing through a bespoke exhaust developed to stay road legal. Shell stiffening and weight reduction draw on some 25 years of Porsche racing work, and the cars are explicitly built for daily use rather than dry summer outings. A quietly engineering-led German alternative to the better-known backdate houses.
