Arkonik
Featured house🇬🇧 Mells, Somerset · United Kingdom
The best-known name in restored Defenders: Somerset-built, US-focused, hundreds of builds delivered worldwide.
Arkonik has probably put more restored Land Rover Defenders into collectors' garages than anyone else. From its Somerset workshops, it strips donor Defenders to bare metal and rebuilds them to each client's specification, a process of well over a thousand hours per truck, with a particular following in North America, where its D90 and D110 builds sail through the 25-year import rule. The scale of the operation brings process and consistency that smaller shops struggle to match, making it the safe-hands choice in the Defender world.
Models & builds
D90
Available to commissionThe Arkonik Defender D90 is a short-wheelbase Land Rover Defender that Arkonik strips to the frame and rebuilds as new, pairing the compact, agile proportions of the original 90-inch chassis with a completely modern drivetrain and cabin. A typical example, like the Metro build, starts from a 1989 donor and comes back with a fresh 6.2L LS3 V8 and 6-speed automatic transmission, an etched, primed and raptor-coated frame, all-new wiring, brakes, suspension and steering, and a fully reupholstered interior in leather with heated and ventilated front seats, a Pioneer touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, air conditioning and modern sound insulation. Prices for this kind of build run from around $145,000 up toward $260,000 depending on specification, and every vehicle ships with a 12-month warranty and a full frame-off restoration, making the D90 the choice for buyers who want the shorter, more nimble Defender in daily-drivable, showroom condition.

D110
Available to commissionThe Arkonik Defender D110 is the longer-wheelbase counterpart, offering the same ground-up restoration philosophy with extra length for additional seating and cargo capacity. A representative build like the Landmark, based on a 1996 donor, pairs a 6.2L LT1 V8 with a 10-speed automatic and rides on Kahn alloy wheels with performance suspension and upgraded brakes, while the cabin gets premium leather seating for up to eight, heated front and second-row seats, a digital Dakota dashboard, powered windows and locks, and a Pioneer NEX touchscreen system. Exterior options commonly include an expedition roof rack, LED light bars, a roll cage and off-road bumpers with an A-bar, reflecting the D110's popularity for overland and adventure-style builds. Pricing typically lands in the $300,000-plus range for a fully loaded example, and like the D90, every D110 comes with a complete frame-off rebuild and a 12-month comprehensive warranty.
