Airion

Airion is a Berlin venture, launched publicly in 2026, that has spent more than two years developing a single 993-based programme with an unusually contrarian brief. The stated goal is to keep what already works and change only what genuinely needs changing, on the premise that extra power, grip and aerodynamics do not automatically make a car more rewarding, and that borrowing period styling cues does not add substance. Priorities are weight reduction, torsional rigidity and safety, with technology deliberately kept out of sight so the experience stays analogue. Engineering comes from HWA in Affalterbach, the most successful team in DTM history, with design handled by the Milan based studio BorromeodeSilva, and the company frames the result as a car imagined from 1998 rather than a restoration.
