Prinzip R

Featured house

🇩🇪 Esslingen · Germany

German 911 restoration and backdate house particularly known for ground-up 930 Turbo rebuilds.

Prinzip R is a German 911 restoration and backdate house known for ground-up rebuilds of the 930 Turbo. The workshop strips each car to bare metal and reconstructs it with obsessive documentation, offering both faithful restorations and subtly modernised builds. Its focus on the widowmaker-era Turbo sets it apart from the 964-centric mainstream. German thoroughness applied to Porsche's most charismatic classic.

R+

Available to commission

The R+ line takes the 964 Carrera 2/4 or 930 Turbo as its base and keeps the original body shape while modernising performance, safety and daily comfort, an approach the company frames as "the gentlemen athlete." Engine options span a 3.6 to 4.0 litre naturally aspirated flat-six or a 3.3 to 3.8 litre turbocharged unit, delivering anywhere from 300 to 600 hp, paired with a 4-speed, 5-speed G50 or optional 993-derived 6-speed transmission. Suspension is handled by KW V3 coilovers or custom KW DDC adaptive dampers for a blend of precision and long-distance comfort, braking comes from a "Big Red" four-piston system based on the 993 Turbo, and finished cars weigh in around 1,200 to 1,350 kg.

RG

Available to commission

The RG line is the purist's G-Model backdate, built from select 1984 to 1989 911 G-Models and stripped back to what PRINZIP R calls "the essence, unadulterated." Power comes from a 3.4 litre flat-six producing around 300 hp, kept lightweight at roughly 1,050 kg, with period-correct Bilstein or KW Classic suspension preserving the incorruptible directness of the original torsion bar setup. Its narrow, unwidened silhouette is finished with chrome accents, contemporary mirrors and F-model inspired bumpers, favoring focused, less-hours builds that emphasize the emotional connection to the road over outright performance.

R64

Available to commission

The R64 is the range-topping model, a wide-body homage to the 964 ST realized in steel with carbon elements for weight optimisation on the bumpers and roof. Its 4.0 litre, high-revving flat-six produces over 400 hp and 420 Nm for a 0-100 km/h time of around 4.1 seconds and a top speed above 290 km/h, running through a precision 993-based six-speed manual gearbox with a Drexler limited-slip differential. Braking is handled by a high-performance Cup or PFC system, and the finished car weighs approximately 1,250 kg, with further weight savings available on request, making the R64 PRINZIP R's most track-focused and highest build-quality offering.
