SV Auto

SV Automotive was founded in 1985 by Finnish mechanical engineer Simo Veharanta and has remained a family business ever since, working on classic Porsches from Southern California. The house speciality is all-steel backdated 911 RS and RSR builds, deliberately produced in small numbers, alongside nut-and-bolt restorations and an in-house engine programme that includes a 3.4-litre twin-plug twin-turbo good for around 680hp in a 930. The shop is also known for returning the badly damaged Mecum 959 to as-new condition and for the CSF911 SEMA car, documented in an eleven-part series. Four decades of continuity and its own engine work give SV a depth that newer backdate shops cannot match.
