Dione Motorcars

🇺🇸 Malibu, California · United States

Southern Californian marque turning customer Testarossas into one-off open-top grand tourers, keeping the gated manual and losing almost everything else.

Dione Motorcars is built around a single model, the Tesoro, and around a car it pointedly never names: the 4.9-litre twelve-cylinder Ferrari with strakes down its flanks that became a pop-culture fixture in the 1980s. Customer cars are stripped and comprehensively reworked, emerging as removable-hardtop convertibles with carbon spoilers and diffuser, LED taillights echoing the original strake motif, and a glass engine cover framing individual throttle bodies on a newly fuel-injected engine. Underneath go a strengthened subframe with integrated rollover protection, reinforced side trellis, multi-damper coilovers and six-piston front monobloc brakes. What stays is the whole point: the gated five-speed manual, analogue instruments and a deliberate absence of driver aids. Each Tesoro is a one-off, built in strictly limited numbers to the owner's specification.
