Das Triebwerk
🇩🇪 Wupperthal · Germany
Boxer engine manufaktur near Wuppertal, making its own injection and throttle systems alongside displacement-named 911 backdates based on the Porsche 964 or 993 variants.
Das Triebwerk is an engine shop first. From its premises in the Ennepe-Ruhr district east of Wuppertal it rebuilds air-cooled boxers for Porsche 911s and 356s and for VW’s T1, T2 and Type 3, with gearbox building, CNC machining, electrics and in-house engineering alongside. That depth shows in its own product line: mechanical injection kits for F and G model 911s, exhaust systems, and a throttle body assembly it redesigned from the ground up, all sold through its shop. Their steel-bodied backdates based on the Porsche 964 or 993 variants are identified by displacement, from an F3.00 Targa through the F3.50 and F3.6 to an F4.3 delivered to the UAE, with straight restorations such as a 2.4 T alongside them. A builder to go to for what sits under the engine lid.
