Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera

Featured house

🇮🇹 Rho (Milan) · Italy

The great Milanese coachbuilder, alive and building: Veloce12, Disco Volante, Aero 3 and bespoke bodies since 1926.

Touring Superleggera is one of the immortal names of Italian coachbuilding, the house that bodied the Alfa 8C 2900, the original Aston DB4 and dozens of icons, revived in Milan and building again: the Veloce12 on Ferrrai 550 Maranello basis, the Disco Volante, the Aero 3, the Arese RH95, and one-off commissions in the classical manner. This is not restomodding in the Porsche-workshop sense but true carrozzeria work: a client, a chassis, and a hand-built body. Its presence anchors the entire Italian end of the directory.

Models & builds

Veloce12

Limited series (30)

The Touring Superleggera Veloce12 (based on the Ferrari 550 Maranello) reworks the coachbuilder's mid-20th-century grand touring formula around a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V12 that makes 503hp at 7,000rpm and 760Nm of torque, output raised through a PWR cooling system, a Supersprint exhaust and freshly engineered carbon fiber induction ducting. Matteo Gentile, the company's Head of Design, drew the carbon fiber bodywork with flowing, shark-like surfacing, wrapped around a stiffened chassis fitted with bespoke TracTive adaptive dampers and a Brembo braking package pairing four-pot rear calipers on 380mm discs with six-pot units up front on discs of the same diameter. Power flows to the rear wheels alone via a 6-speed manual, sending the car to 100km/h in 4.4 seconds and on toward an estimated 320km/h, while inside, hand-finished leather trim surrounds switchgear machined to close tolerances.

Veloce12 Barchetta

Limited series (15)

The Superleggera Veloce12 Barchetta (based on the Ferrari 550 Maranello) strips the formula down to its most visceral form, an open-top variant built for what Touring calls an unfiltered connection to the road, wind and landscape. It shares the Veloce12's carbon fiber structure, 5.5-liter V12 engine and 503hp output, along with the same adaptive suspension and braking hardware, but drops the fixed roof entirely in favor of a pure roadster body designed for open-air driving. Performance shifts slightly with the change in body style, with an estimated top speed of 290km/h and the same 4.4-second sprint to 100km/h, while inside, ergonomic seats trimmed in Italian leather and natural-fiber fabrics are finished with hand-stitching and inlays sourced from artisanal suppliers who typically furnish the world's most refined interiors.

Veloce12 Aperta

Limited series (15)

The Superleggera Veloce12 Aperta (based on the Ferrari 550 Maranello) is Touring's newest variant, unveiled in June 2026 at the company's Rho, Milan headquarters as part of its 100th-anniversary celebrations, and it splits the difference between the coupe and the full roadster with a targa-style format. Removable roof panels combine with a sculpted aluminum arch to let the car move between open-air freedom and enclosed cabin comfort, while retaining the same 503hp 5.5-liter V12, 6-speed manual gearbox and 4.4-second 0-100km/h time as its siblings, with an estimated top speed of 290km/h. It also adds a practical dimension the other two do not offer, with a class-leading storage compartment Touring calls the Weekender, finished in fine leathers and Alcantara and offering 327 liters of boot volume with the roof up or 233 liters with it removed.

Aero 3

Limited series (15)

The Touring AERO 3 is a limited, carbon-bodied re-imagining of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, the third streamliner in Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera's modern line after the Disco Volante and Disco Volante Spyder. Its teardrop profile draws on the aerodynamic experiments the Milanese coachbuilder began in the 1930s, with sweeping, softly sculpted surfaces in place of sharp angles, a long muscular bonnet and a dorsal fin that nods to Touring's early wind tunnel research. The body is made entirely of carbon fibre over a laser-cut aluminium substructure, with every panel digitally scanned for millimetre accuracy, and at the rear a pair of active foils flanking the fin rise and lower automatically with speed. Underneath, the donor Ferrari's 6.3 litre, 65 degree V12 delivers 740 hp at 8,250 rpm and 690 Nm through a seven-speed sequential gearbox to the rear wheels, which Touring quotes as good for 0 to 100 km/h in about 3.1 seconds and an estimated 340 km/h, at a kerb weight of around 1,495 kg. Only 15 cars are being built, each taking some 5,000 hours of handwork and tailored to its owner through moodboards, materials and colour, with track-focused options available on request.
