Rocketeer Cars proves restomodding doesn't have to mean six figures. From its Hampshire workshop, it drops a bespoke 3.0-litre V6, developed with input from Jaguar and Cosworth engineering, into the Mazda MX-5 across both the NA and NB generations, lifting output to around 280PS in standard tune. More than 30 complete cars and over 150 self-build kits have gone out to customers, and a forthcoming 850kg Keiryo flagship promises a power-to-weight ratio in the region of the Ferrari F40. It's a different kind of restomod ambition: not the most expensive car in the segment, but arguably the best value transformation.
