ICON 4x4

Jonathan Ward began restoring Toyota Land Cruisers under the TLC name in 1996, and ICON grew from that into arguably the founding company of the modern 4x4 restomod movement. Its FJ, Bronco and Thriftmaster builds pair faithfully reproportioned bodywork with big-displacement V8 power, fully re-engineered chassis and interiors finished to a standard closer to a design studio than a garage. Two distinct philosophies run through the range: Reformer builds that polish everything to a high shine, and Derelict builds that keep the patina and rust exactly as found. Nearly thirty years in, ICON remains the reference point every off-road restomodder gets measured against.
